Business Development Manager



MGM Group is a family owned and operated private company based in various locations across Western Australia. MGM has several decades of logistics experience within the bulk haulage industry, servicing mining companies that require bulk haulage, storage, ship loading, rail loading and stockpile management services.

The MGM Bulk division commenced in 2014, and has experienced rapid growth since its inception. To continue the growth of the business, we are currently seeking a highly motivated, proactive & enthusiastic individual to join our team as Business Development Manager to increase our exposure and client base on both a statewide and national level.

Demonstrating your ability to establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and potential customers will be a key element in being shortlisted for this position.

Previous experience working in or with members of the Transport Industry, specialising in bulk haulage, would be advantageous but not essential. It is essential however to be flexible with working hours as travel will be an expectation for this role.

As part of our employment process, all employees will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and ongoing drug and alcohol screening.

Essential requirements:

  • Continue to grow the MGM Bulk division of the business by acquiring and expanding bulk haulage contracts across Australia;

  • Collate and assist with completion of all tender submissions;

  • Report on a weekly basis on specific target, quote/tenders submitted, new business secured and missed or denied opportunities;

  • Prepare a targeted sales plan forecasting where the new business/growth will be acquired for the upcoming 12 month period and beyond;

  • Manage existing customers of the business and ensure they are retained on long term contracts;

  • Manage new and existing contracts and agreements;

  • Facilitate and conduct review meetings for all existing customers.
