ABOUT THE POSITION

MGM Group is a family owned and operated private company with over 50 years' experience within the bulk haulage industry, servicing mining companies that require bulk haulage, storage, ship loading, rail loading and stockpile management services.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an industry leader in a newly created position at our Picton site.  The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of local maintenance employees in providing excellent quality of service and workmanship to meet HVA requirements and business operational demands in service and maintenance, diagnostics and repair of our fleet of trucks, machinery and plant. As the Workshop Supervisor you will need to be a self motivated individual who has the ability to offer technical support to motivate and inspire employees whilst also possessing the strength of character to implement changes and meet deadlines as required by the business.

The successful applicant will be based locally and able to:

  • Manage maintenance employees work hours and allocation of work to meet operational and safety requirements
  • Schedule rosters, repairs, servicing and maintenance to compliment production requirements
  • Work closely with Workshop and Branch Manager(s) to achieve forecasted objectives
  • Coordinate purchases of parts and consumables in preparation for servicing and maintenance requirements
  • Manage the maintenance of records in accordance with our branch requirements, Quality System and Main Roads Accreditation
  • Ensure a safe working environment and report any safety incidents or concerns to ensure compliance with the relevant OH&S requirements
  • Communicate work progress to management including time frames and expected costs
  • Assist in completing servicing and repair duties of the fleet to meet operational requirements

We would be very interested to receive resumes from potential candidates who can demonstrate previous experience in a similar role working with heavy duty haulage equipment (preferably Kenworth Trucks and trailing equipment) whilst also being able to roll up their sleeves and get on the tools as required. Applicants should be solutions focused and be able to communicate confidently and clearly across all levels.  It is essential you are computer literate (MS Office suite). Previous experience with computerised maintenance management systems is highly desirable.

To be considered you must have a mechanical trade qualification.
